1. Our Services

Alder & Vale provides professional bookbinding and restoration services in Bath. We also offer a selection of ready-made journals for purchase through our website.

2. Bespoke Services & Quotes

For bespoke bookbinding and repair, we operate on a quote-based system. You describe your requirements, and we provide a formal quote. By accepting our quote, you agree to these terms. A 40% deposit is required to secure your booking and commence work. The remaining balance is due upon completion, before the item is returned or collected.

3. Payments

Payments for ready-made journals are processed in full at the time of purchase via our secure checkout. For bespoke services, payment links for deposits and final balances will be sent directly to you via email.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

Ready-made journals: You may cancel your order before it has been dispatched. Once dispatched, our standard return policy applies.

Bespoke services: As these items are custom-made to your specifications, deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced. If you wish to cancel before work begins, please contact us immediately.

5. Delivery & Fulfilment

We will notify you via email when your bespoke item is ready for collection or dispatch. We take the utmost care in packaging all items, but we are not liable for damage caused by third-party couriers.

6. Liability

While we treat every book with professional care, we are not responsible for pre-existing damage or the inherent fragility of antiquarian materials. Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
